HD Streamz is a free app that gives you access to more than 1,000 TV channels and radio stations.

HD Streamz is a free app for your Android advice that delivers live streaming of more than 1,000 TV channels and radio stations from across the globe. In fact, 19 countries are currently represented, and these include USA, UK, India, Germany, Spain, Netherlands, Ireland and South Africa.

With a selection this big, the user interface can seem a bit overwhelming at first. But channels are classified into genres as well as tagged by country, so you can peruse them that way. Additionally, as you find channels you like, you can favorite them. Tap on a favorite to have the HD Streamz app provide you all of the links available for the current stream of that TV channel or radio broadcast.

There are also some issues with the user interface that have sprung up as the design has evolved. More and more users are installing HD Streamz on Firesticks and the like. There are some aspects of the UI that seem more intended for a keyboard and mouse than a touchscreen and vice versa. All in all, though, the UI is quite good and improving to work out those kinks.

During our review, we were surprised just how many U.S. TV channels were available. The U.S. is often not well represented by such apps, but that is certainly not the case here. You may not find the local channels you want, but there is an extensive selection that contains just about every major over-the-air and cable channel available in America.

Be mindful that you will be watching these channels live with just the short delay caused by the streaming. These streams do on occasion go down, which can be annoying. However, the app usually provides you several instances and often much more than that. Just tapping on one of the other links provided will get you back to the live programming that you were enjoying.

An interesting aspect of HD Streamz is that it provides built-in access to support. This is not support provided by the developer itself for reasons we will discuss in the next paragraph. It is user-based but quite responsive and does a great job of helping new users get it up and running in our experience.

It may come as no surprise, but for the sake of full disclosure, be aware that many of these streams are not on the up and up. These are certainly not streams provided by the actual channel for your enjoyment at no cost—at least in the case of the U.S. Whether they are illegal is a matter of great debate. They exist within a legal gray area at the moment. As far as if it is illegal for your purposes depends on your local jurisdiction as well as your personal feelings about streaming such content.
